Stop what you are doing.
If you don’t want to read, I’ll explain the key bullet points, but please read them afterwords:
This is not “we didn’t protect him enough.”
This is not “the government screwed up some random detail or accidentally let his killer loose.”
The 111th Military Intelligence had a team taking pictures of his balcony during the assassination.
They brought in a Special Forces 8-Man Sniper Team from the 20th.
Memphis Police withdrew their regular protection detail from him.
A jury of 12 people, six black and six white, found the United States Government guilty of conspiracy to commit murder.
YOUR GOVERNMENT. MY GOVERNMENT. THE GOVERNMENT OF, BY, AND FOR THE PEOPLE, SHOT AND KILLED DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING. And the media never reported the case.
MLK was ASSASSINATED. By a government YOU PAY FOR.
I hate those posts where someone tries to pressure you into reblogging. I almost never ask you to reblog.
This shit is important.
Reblog this. I don’t care what kind of blog you have. I don’t care what you normally talk about.
Allie Brosh lays it out more clearly and perfectly than anyone I’ve ever read. I wish people would stop including “welcome back” with their thanks. I’m worried she’ll feel like she has to be back now.
Dear Allie dear loved ones dear world, it can get better. It can even suck better. It’s worth it. Please keep trying and I will keep trying too.
TCAF is finally here again! This is my absolute favorite comics-related event of the entire year. It’s this Saturday & Sunday (May 11 & 12) at the Toronto Reference Library north of Yonge & Bloor. And it’s FREE!
I’ll be upstairs again, at table 251, between my pals Shelli Paroline & Braden Lamb (of the Adventure Time comics) & the amazing Jess Fink!
It’s been a huge and busy year, so I’ll have a ton of stuff I’m bringing along for sale:
- Adventure Time comics and trade paperbacks!
- Bravest Warriors comics - regular and variant covers!
- Original pages from all 8 issues of the Bravest Warriors comic book!
- Adventure Time prints!
- Patton Oswalt (and more) posters!
- True Story!
- PLUS I’ll be doing exclusive sketch covers - I’ll draw your favorite characters on special blank covers for Bravest Warriors #1 and Adventure Time w/ Fionna & Cake #1! These aren’t available anywhere else.
Also, on Sunday, I’ll be a part of this:
Sunday, May 12
4:00 – 5:00pm ADVENTURE TIME!

I wish I could find the source for this, to properly credit it. Best thing I’ve seen online forever.
I have a new book coming out very soon, and it is a book I am very proud of. It’s called THE SUMMER IS ENDED AND WE ARE NOT YET SAVED, and it is two things to me. 1) It’s a slasher movie of a horror novel, filled with everything I love about summer camp slasher movies, but with the child murders cranked up much crazier than the MPAA would ever let an actual director get away with. And, 2) It’s the story of a young boy and his single mom, and how weird and great they are because of one another. It’s a love letter to moms everywhere, and to my mom in particular.
So, for Mother’s Day this week, I thought I’d post this. This is a prologue that did not end up in the book, because of structural concerns, but which I think gives a pretty good introduction to Elizabeth, the mom character. I hope you like it. The book is available for pre-order on amazon now.
Note: Trigger warning for violence/abuse.
Elizabeth walked home from school, even though she had her bike with her. She was in no hurry. Fall was the perfect time of year. Not too hot. No bugs. A nice breeze coming in off the Atlantic Ocean. And the school would already have called. If her father was home, they would have told him. If not, they would have told her mother and that would be worse. Her mother would tell her father without hesitation, even though she knew what he would do. Even though her mother could conceivably keep it secret.
Hello! If you have an iOS device you can download, for free, the Comic Chameleon app and read many great webcomics on it. I’ve tried it out myself and it’s a really nice reading experience. And best of all, it’s all legitimate, unlike those apps that pop up every few months and scrape everyone’s comics without permission. This is currently the only app that is authorized to used my comics. Check it out!
